I take any 'warnings' that my boy Ben gives me about people seriously. He's a good judge of character, and if he doesn't like a person, then I usually won't either. If he's not comfortable around/near/with a person, he'll walk away - not the norm for him - he's like your Nico - a big goofy lovebug!
Seriously - it could have been the look the kid had, or maybe in her past life she was named 'Buffy'!!
