. Their were times when ours went through it and when we checked the line and the collar the battery was dead. The more they go through, the more it runs down the battery and when you think it's working it really isn't. IMO it isn't the safest way to go for many reasons, I too would look into a fence for peace of mind and security. With the bad rap our breed is getting, you certainly don't want them to run free.
