I saw this on a show on the Animal Planet or read it somewhere, can't quite remember which. But, I do remember the jist of it. You have the dog sit, with 1 hand you hold the treat on top of the muzzle. With the other hand holding the underneath of the muzzle. While holding the treat you are saying stay. When you are ready, say Okay, letting go with the top hand and push up slightly with the bottom hand. With a little practice, it should work, but while learning, remember that the treat might just go flying off somewhere, so be prepared to duck!:)
