| Are you crating your dog...? Crating is an excellent way to train your dog to "go pee" outside. When you crate your dog you take the dog outside before giving it freedom in your house. It'll learn to equate freedom in the house with "go pee". If the dog won't go outside..., put the rascal back into the crate for a second try a little later.
When my pup had freedomI watched her like a hawk.
My puppy always circled before peeing and then I quickly whisked it out the door..., calmly repeating the "go pee" command. While grabbing for my stash bag of treats within my pocket.
But honestly crating is the way to go..., the dog won't defecate their sleeping area..., and the minute they are out they are out the door with no time to " go pee"inside.
When the pup got the hang of this I placed the dog in a small room rather than romp the entire house. Same idea I took hre outside before she got more freedom.
Maybe this helps... :p |
