I fell in love with the breed as a teenager. My sister & I were asked to house sit for a friend of family. She had an adopted female Rottweiler Molly and several cats. Molly had been abused before. Well I was a bit nervous, I was not raised with pets(well I had a parakeet
) Anyway the first day was a little anxious for us. (remember I had never been around dogs before) Anyway she just kept staring & staring at me. So I just gave her her space & just talked to her. The next day she followed me around from room to room and then when I sat down to watch tv that eve. she comes right up to me sits down in front of me & sticks her paw on my lap. (I had been accepted) I started rubbing her paws and she just got this look on her face like Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! And from that point on I was hooked. How can you not love a breed that is intelligent enough to overcome their past and learn to Judge/trust someone. You can really communicate with them on a level above most dogs.
