This has been happening in my community lately. There has been much uproar and support for the poor pup.
Fox Valley Community Rally's to Pay for Injured Dogs Recovery.
Thousands of dollars in donations and services have funneled in to aid the recovery of a dog who was shot twice last week and found lying on a road in the Town of Clayton, but the investigation into the dog’s injuries has been less fruitful.

Man charged with turning his Rottweiler loose on ex-girlfriend
CRARYVILLE – A 28-year-old Craryville man has been charged with misdemeanor assault and drug possession after a physical altercation with a former girlfriend.
State Police at Livingston said that during that assault, Thomas Golden ordered his Rottweiler to attack the woman and the dog bit her on the leg.

Authorities in an Orange County town are searching for new homes for 76 Rottweilers found living in what they called one of the most disturbing cases of animal abuse and neglect they've seen.
The dogs were discovered in the Wallkill home of Sylvia Panetta, with most of them living in the fenced-in backyard. The ground had nails sticking out in some parts, and the animals were eating and sleeping in white huts, according to officials. The dogs were fed stale bread.
